Aveline Gram

My 2nd mastercourse of this summer, took place in Warsaw from the 17th until the 31st of July.

This was a prize I won thanks to the Chopin Foundation.
I’ve been chosen by them as their laureate of 2010-2011 which includes full scolarship for this mastercourse.

It was great to be in the home town of Fr. Chopin.  He is still very present in almost every street of Warsaw.
The Polish people are very proud of their national hero; even the international airport is called after him.

I had 4 lessons of a Polish professor: Jerzy Sterczynski.
He was really great. I played a lot of Chopin of course, such as the Nocturne in c minor and Polonaise in A major.
He helped me a lot with the style of Chopin, with sound and natural mouvement.

This mastercourse included also some excursions such as to the birthplace of Chopin: Zelazowa Wola which was very interesting!

At the end of the mastercourse, I have been chosen (among other young, usually Asian pianists) to play at the final concert!
I played the 1st Ballade of… Fr. Chopin :-)
